You Are Somebody Else Good Thing

People rarely say it. Not because they do not mean it. Because it feels enormous to say out loud and the moment passes.

So a great deal of good travels around completely unreported.

I keep accounts for a living, and this is the only ledger I know of where things arrive without ever being written down.

You are on somebody accounts. You are in credit and nobody sent you the statement.

It might be somebody you sat with once. Somebody you were kind to on a day you have entirely forgotten and they never did. A teacher. A cousin. The person you let go first.

And the same is true in the other direction. You are carrying things that came from people who have no idea they gave them to you.

That is not a small thought. It means the ordinary things you do are landing somewhere, whether or not anybody reports back, and they are still landing years later.

You are already in somebody story as a good thing. You did not have to be told for it to be true.
