Nobody Argues That Flight Outranks Invisibility

Five roles. Trailblazer, Seer, Catalyst, Guardian, Sage. For most of my working life I have watched people arrange those five into a ladder and then spend decades trying to climb it. The whole exercise is a category error.

Powers do not have ranks. Nobody has ever seriously argued that flight outranks invisibility. They are different capabilities for different problems, and the only interesting question about either is what you do with it when the building is on fire.

Here is how a squad actually works. Each role sees a thing the other four cannot. The Trailblazer goes first into ground nobody has mapped, and misses what is happening behind them. The Seer reads what is coming and cannot always build what is needed. The Catalyst starts the reaction in other people and needs someone to hold the room when it takes. The Guardian keeps the formation intact under pressure. The Sage makes the whole thing repeatable so it survives the people who started it.

Five blind spots, arranged so that each one is covered. That is not a hierarchy. That is engineering.

You have one of those five running as your primary and a second one behind it. Which two, and in which order, is the difference between a person who keeps ending up in the wrong fight and a person who is deployed correctly.

You are one of the five. You have been operating as one your entire life without the name for it. Names matter, because you cannot be deployed as something nobody can identify.
