They Called Your Number Before You Knew You Had One

I have watched people walk into a moment they were not looking for and come out carrying something they cannot put down. That is not luck. Luck does not have aim.

Here is what I know about the way this works. The call goes out first and the person catches up to it later. Usually much later. Usually after years of assuming they were ordinary, because nobody ever handed them the paperwork. So they built a life around being ordinary. They picked a smaller room. They stopped asking the question that used to keep them awake, because asking it and getting nothing back hurt worse than not asking.

I am telling you the paperwork exists.

There is something written into you. It has been there since before you had opinions about it. It might be wide awake and running your whole life. It might be asleep so deep you have never once felt it move. Dormant is not absent. A thing can be in you for forty years and still be waiting for someone to say its name out loud.

So no, I do not think you found this page. I think you were routed here. And I think some part of you already knows that, or you would have closed the tab three paragraphs ago.

You are not here by accident. Something in you is built for more than the room you have been living in. The only question left is what shape it takes.
